The main offices of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany for the United Kingdom is located in London.The Consular District of the German Consulate consists of not only Scotland, but also destinations in North-England. This includes Cleveland, Redcar, Darlington, Hartlepool, Cumbria, Middlesbrough, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Stockton on Tees, Hambelton, Richmondshire and Scarborough of North Yorkshire
The German Consulate in Scotland provides a variety of essential services for German citizens either visiting or living in Scotland, as well as for Scots planning journeys to Germany. Within the Consulate you can find the Legal and Consular Matters, Culture, Economy, Politics, Press and Public Relations and Administration sections. German citizens can apply for international marriages, they can certify transcripts and authenticate documents or copies and they can get documents internationally recognized or legalized. The German Consulate also assists in cases where children have been abducted and taken across borders. Visas are handled here as well.
The opening hours of the German Consulate are from 09:00 am to 12:00 am from Monday to Friday. The Consulate also opens from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm every Wednesday for all those wanting to apply for a German Passport. Those wanting to collect a Visa can come to the German Consulate every Monday and Wednesday from 13:30 pm to 14:00 pm. The German Consulate can be contacted by telephone for any necessary information needed from Monday to Thursday at 08:30 am to 17:00pm and on Fridays from 08:30 am to 15:00 pm.
