Plockton flight 2012 – the movie

The flight from Plockton to Oban in Scotland was flown by Malcolm and filmed by Paul. It was part of a trip over the weekend of 24 - 25 March 2012. The whole route was: Shoreham - Barton (Manchester) - Carlisle - Plockton - Oban - Barton (Manchester) - Shoreham. We flew a PA28 Archer G-BYKL. We travelled 1,009nm according to the several GPS devices on board even though some of them lost signal for much of the northern bit of the trip. The weather was extraordinarily civilised for the whole weekend but, as you can see, it got a misty and a bit bumpy near the mountains. After a night at The Plockton Inn, there was a bagpiper at breakfast. The music was a delight compared to that of Malcolm's singing endured throughout much of the journey. We would like to thank all the airfields we visited, and also Cumbernauld and Scottish Information who helped us enormously. There's a Flyer forum article with more pics and detail about the trip here ... http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=75993
