    What was wrong with the previous method of publicly naming and shaming spammers?

        Yes indeed you can do both - or just continue as you have been doing.

        The "Report Content Violation" is a Google requirement to make sure websites that feature user-posted content are doing all we can to keep offensive material off the sites.

              The vague form look like it can be a bigger problem than spammers are! Could be a head ache for someone.

                  Apparently the 'form' does something and the triangle does something else . . . maybe?

                      The triangle is only visible to logged in forum members.

                      The other option is available to everyone.

                        Tried to use this feature just now to report mackfeloone, the thing didn't recognize the verification that I entered.

                        I just went to the mod page and banned the spammer.
