  • Easing Life for Older Dogs

Old dogs should enjoy their twilight years, even if they are showing signs of senile dementia or cognitive dysfunction.

With failing senses and physical agility, they become more anxious and often moe agitated or depressed.

Keep old dogs off slippery surfaces. A sling/harness that fits under the dog's tummy can also make life easier, especially for overweight and arthritic dogs. Sprcial diets are often needed.

Low doses of Valium or selegiline may help relieve some anziety amd cognitive dysfunction, as will the B-vitamin choline supplement Cholodin.
