What does it mean? I just saw that it was the Gaelic translation for Scotland. Right?

Alba is Latin and it means white. Gaelic for Scotland - I don't think so.

Mamie, you are right and wrong! Alba is Latin for white, but it is also Gaelic for Scotland. (Weren't you paying attention during Braveheart when Mel Gibson gives the war cry [b]"Alba gu bragh!"[b]?)

Yes, Mamie, it is Gaelic. I don't have the Gaelic myself so I cannot give you an exact translation, but idiomatically it means something like Scotland for ever!

It is also spelt "Alba gu brath", but "bragh" is also common.
