I knew a girl from Aberdeen whose surname was Caie (pronounced 'kye') and she told me that it meant 'cow'.

I think cae is the plural of cow in Scots.

According to the Scots dialect dictionary haining is not a general word for a field but specifically for an area of pasture that is fenced in. Kye is the plural of cows although kine can also be used.

"Dubh" is Scots Gaelic for "black". Other than that, black is black.
