    More research is needed to confirm the link, but an early study suggests that a compound found in the citrus may be associated with a reduced risk of rheumatoid arthritis. In the study, women who consumed little beta-cryptoxanthin, a nutrient found in citrus fruits, were more likely to develop the condition.
