    Heart-healthy eating doesn't have to be dreary. Try these simple tips for delicious food that's good for you and tastes wonderful.

    * Substitute lean ground turksy for beef when you make burgers. Add a dash of soy sauce and a tablespoon of cold water for moisture.

    * Make a batch of pita chips instead of potato chips. Cut or tear pita bread into small pieces and bake in 350 degrees
    Farenheit oven for about 15 minutesor until done.

    * For a low-calorie sweet treat, steam a bunch of seedless grapes and wash and dry them completely. Put on a baking sheet in a single layer and freeze, then transfer to a covered container and store in the freezer. Eat them while still frozen.

    * Roast vegetables to intensify their flavor. Cut potatoes into chunks, toss with just enough olive oil to coat, and roast until tender (about 35 to 40 minutes in a 400 degree Farenheit oven). Wedges of red bell peper will take 15 minutes and shallots willl take about 30 minutes.

    * Use this zippy mixxture instead of salt to liven up the taste of roast meat, poultry, soups or stews: Mince the zest of lemon, then mix with 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley and 2 small cloves of finely chopped garlic.

    *Substitute yogurt for sour cream. Spoon a pint of plain lowfat yogurt into a stsrainer lined with a damp paper towel or a piece of cheesecloth. Set over a deep bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight. Season with mustard and minced garlic and use as a dip for raw vegetables.
