    How well you're sleeping may just be as important to your health as how much you sleep.

    In a study of people aged 60 to 85 years, long periods of wakefullness during the night were linked to an imcreased risk of death during the course of the study. To improve the quality of your sleep, keep a regular sleep schedule, avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, and sleep in a cool, dark room.
