    If you turn on the TV when you exercise, make sure that you tune into your form as well.

    Studies show that most people doing cardio workouts in front of the TV---on the bike, stair-climber, or treadmill---use bad form. They grip the hendrails too tightly and tend to focus on the screen instead of on their technique. Check your form during every commercial break and monitor your heart rate periodically.
