Television of Scotland

Whether it's to occupy yourself on a rainy day whilst under a blanket, drinking a cup of hot chocolate, or if it's to watch the late night romantic movie with your partner, everybody loves TV. In a beautiful country with plenty of rainy days, this modern convenience seems to provide even the most intrepid traveler with a few hours of great entertainment. Running mostly BBC scheduled programs, the five or so channels that can be tuned into across the country provide hours of excellent television programs. It does not matter if you prefer thrillers, action movies, news programs, comedies or science fiction adventures, you can be sure that you will find something enjoyable on one of Scotland’s TV channels.

Some may find it surprising that this lovely country does not have a greater selection of television channels. However, once they have started to watch a bit of local TV, they will likely discover that the programs scheduled for airing are of a reasonably high quality and that they adequately cover the needs of the majority of the Scottish people. For those that do not enjoy the local choice, there is the option of satellite television. Many Scottish hotels offer this option but charge accordingly.

If you are planning to spend some time in Scotland soon, we recommend that you spend a moment of your time watching the local television broadcasts. Doing so will help you to get a feel for the culture that surrounds you. It is also just a great way to relax and unwind after an exciting day of touring.
