Maisri – Meaning and Pronunciation?

Can anyone tell me the meaning of the name Maisri, and how to correctly pronounce it? I know how to say Masri and what it means! Pronounce it (Maz-riy) it means to glide on air!

It would be pronounced Mah-shri, with the emphasis on the first syllable. But I never heard the name before. Are you sure it isn’t made up? A lot of girls’ names in America are. Good news is that the closest I can get in Gaelic is ‘maise’ (mah-sha), which means very beautiful or elegant.

I do know that a lot of names are just made up (my eldest daughter’s is.), but I was pretty sure this one was Scottish.I made up my daughter’s name Rhanna, which I thought looked and sounded like a Scottish name, and when she was about four years old, I stumbled onto the Marion Christine Fraser “Rhanna” series of books. She just made it up too, as the name of a fictional Scottish island, but apparently, I did okay. I really like the look of Maisri (I am really visual with how names look written out for some weird reason), and just wanted to be sure I was pronouncing it correctly before possibly bestowing it on my next daughter.
