We are the Scottish Music Awards and we have been set up to recognise, foster, develop, promote and celebrate the Scottish Music Industry and its artists locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We are setting out to forge an identity for our vast music industry in Scotland and have the unsung heroes recognised. This will be an annual event, with the first taking place on Sunday 4th September 2011 at the legendary Barrowland Ballroom.

The event will attract industry professionals, media and record labels and will give artists the chance to meet and play for national industry executives. We are the ONLY genre-free event to be held in Scotland! – All types of music will be honoured including Indie, Country, Rock, Reggae, dance and Function/Tribute bands to name a few. Industry awards will also be honoured from "Studio engineer of the year" to "Event photographer of the year" etc.

Submissions for the 2011 event are being accepted now!!
