Driving Down Through Windfarm, Fairlie Moors, Ayrshire, Scotland (30jun2011) [07:06]
The journey back down from the windfarm, from just under 300m above sea level. Filmed using my Panasonic Lumix TZ9 clamped to the dashboard of a 2008 Ford Transit. Some nice views of the Irvine valley and beyond :-)

A very bumpy road. I wouldn't take my own car along this road, but had to take the works van along it on a drop. No road surface to speak of, just a dirt track booby trapped with rocks and pot holes. Also note the oncoming cement mixers (courteous drivers mind you ;-) Despite all this, I'm glad I had the opportunity to drive up there. An excellent view from the top (approx 300m asl), and well worth the effort getting there.

View From Windfarm, Fairlie Moors,Ayrshire,Scotland(30jun2011).Panasonic Lumix TZ9 [01:13]
I Had a drop near the higher up of the two windfarms at the Fairlie Moors. My satnav showed I was just under 300m asl. The first part of the clip looks down on the countryside around Kilbirnie, Dalry, along the Irvine Valley looking down the coast towards Troon, Ayr, Girvan etc. The second clip was filmed down the hill a bit and starts looking towards Paisley, Glasgow and the surrounding area and back along the Irvine valley. Apologies for the slightly shakey camerawork, but I don't carry a tripod in the van and I think the wind noise explains the rest!

Kilbirnie To Largs, Ayrshire Scotland (8may2011) Nokia 6303 [10:27]
There's a windfarm (Kelburn Windfarm), under construction on the road between Largs to Kilbirnie. I'm all in favour of renewable energy, but I think windfarms destroy the scenery. I do accept however that we need them. I decided to record the journey along the road over two clips, travelling both ways along the road as I have no idea just how big an impact the windfarm will have on the landscape.
