Sir William Oliphant Tomb Aberdalgie Strathearn Perthshire Scotland April 28th [01:45]
Tour Scotland video of the Sir William Oliphant Tomb in the graveyard at Aberdalgie, Strathearn, Perthshire. In the Aberdalgie Churchyard, formerly inside the church before that moved, is the family vault where Medieval heads of Clan Oliphant are buried. Prominent among them is Sir William Oliphant, the resolute Governor of Stirling Castle when in 1304 it held out longer than any other against Edward I of England, during the Wars of Scottish Independence. Also buried there are Sir William's son, Sir Walter Oliphant, and his wife, Princess Elizabeth, the youngest daughter of King Robert the Bruce. The tomb was covered by an effigy which is the finest example of Tournai stone work in Scotland. From the design of the armour of the recumbent figure of the effigy, it has been dated to around 1365, which was some long time after Sir William died but fits most closely with the dates of Sir Walter and his Royal bride. The tomb is now the registered lair of the Chief of Clan Oliphant.

Balquhidder Glen - Loch Voil [02:15]
Balquhidder, properly known as 'The Kirktoun of Balquhidder' is located in Balquhidder Glen about two miles west of the A84 at King's House Hotel north of Strathyre. This single track road requiring some care will prevent the driver from enjoying the lovely scenery and views whilst travelling the two miles to Kirktoun of Balquhidder. A high point in the oad just before the Kirktoun affords a wonderful view past the village and over Loch Voil toward the distant head of the glen. The public road extends a further 6 miles past Lochs Voil and Doine before ending at a small picnic area at Inverlochlarig. Things to see The road passes the MacGregor Mausoleum on the left about one mile from King's House Hotel - it is often mistaken for a derilict church. At Kirktoun of Balquhidder the ruins of an ancient church and its 19th century replacement grace the burial place of Rob Roy MadGregor, his wife and two sons. On a side road beyond the kirk a hump back bridge affords spectacular views to the west over loch Voil. A careful drive along the glen beyond the village provides lochside snenery and the occasional picnic spot beside the loch although parking is usually difficult as property owners have often blocked access with large boulders to prevent wild camping. Things to do At The Kirktoun, park at the old church to see Rob Roy's Grave then take the pathway behind the later church and follow up the hill to take a path on the right leading to a viewpoint at the Clach na Tuirk at the ...

The Macro Guitarist: Live At Buchanan Castle [03:21]
Exploring Buchanan castle in Scotland! With my amateur guitar playing in fore ground. Played 6 string nylon acoustic with for the first three tunes (the intro I was just loosing up). I also played my yamaha 12 string that has extremely high action and difficult for even the best to play. But when in tune & hittin' all strings there's nothing better than a 12 string. I filmed with my Sony FX7 in my clan castle ruins. Outside Loch Lomond & not far from the Buchanan Arms Hotel in a posh residential neighborhood. My wife & I stumbled upon the monsterous remains (we were looking for a place to turn around). Not much footage was of use though for the terrain was treacherous and it began to rain. Still it was amazing wandering throughout the ruins. And I felt some 16th Century Guitar could set the mood.
