Tour Scotland February video of Kincarrathie Doocot on visit to Perth, Perthshire. This doo'cot dating from 1694 is next to Kincarrathie House, the former home of Arthur Bell of whisky fame and now a residential care home for the elderly. This Scottish building was intended to house pigeons or doves. Dovecotes may be square or circular free-standing structures or built into the end of a house or barn. They generally contain pigeon holes for the birds to nest. Pigeons and doves were an important food source historically in Western Europe and were kept for their eggs, flesh, and dung.

Established in 1825, the distillery was traditionally run by three men but now there are just two. Only twelve casks are produced each week. This is the smallest distillery in Scotland.
