Scotland Day 6 - Loch Ness & Urquhart [05:03]
Day 6: we hired a three-passenger (actually two-passenger + driver) motorcycle (aka a "trike") and headed out through Inverness to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, then on to Fort Augustus and back to Castle Stuart. Then a stop in Nairn for sticky toffee pudding, which was one the daily staples of our tour.

2012 was the year of my first distance trails. In June I completed Hadrian's wall from Wallsend to Bowness on Solway for the MS Society and in August I did the Dales Way from Ilkley to Bowness on Windermere for the British Lung Foundation. I also had walking weekends in Rothbury, Craster, Budle Bay, Wooler, Berwick on Tweed and Coniston in Cumbria. It was a year of firsts in which I also I completed my first three Wainwrights and bought my first tent which will change the way I approach walking. Wherever you go stay safe, check the weather, plan ahead, let people know where you are going, take maps & compass with your gps and follow the countryside code. We met this lone piper on our way through the Scottish Highlands (Saturday, April 14, 2012). We were on a Timberbush Tours three-day trip to the Isle of Skye. The female voice you hear is our driver/guide Angela.

Tour Scotland Winter video shot this afternoon on visit to Edradour Whisky Distillery by Pitlochry, Perthshire, Scotland. Established in 1825, the distillery was traditionally run by three men but now there are just two. Only twelve casks are produced each week. Edradour takes it water from a stream on Ben Vrackie called Edradour burn, and that stream, after two days of heavy rain in Scotland, was well filled with water today.
