Scotland holidays: playing cello "on a mountain" [05:35]
One thing I had to do in Scotland was, of course, music! I only had the cello with me. To have something that would somehow fit to the location, I bought this collection of notes: "Session tunes for Scottish Cellists" (allthough I am not). I would then keep looking out for nice places to sit and, well, play these pieces. Unfortunately, sitting down is a bit distressful in the Scottish Highlands in August due to the ridiculous amount of midges, and also ticks (the latter would maybe not have been such a problem if I had not insisted on always wearing shorts...) which is the main reason why I called this a really stupid idea. The other reason is that I'm probably being presumptuous playing those tunes in Scotland, but I hope nobody minds. ____ Der Urlaub in Schottland war fantastisch. Für mich natürlich unverzichtbar: Musik machen! Das Cello hatte ich dabei, bloẞ - was spielen? Ich dachte mir es wäre am schönsten in Schottland dann auch was Schottisches zu machen, also hab ich mir ein Heft mit Noten gekauft. Und das tollste an Schottland ist natürlich die Natur - wenn da auch im August irrwitzige Mengen an Mücken unterwegs sind. Ich hoffe es nimmt mir niemand übel dass ich mich da einfach hinpflanze und mir anmaẞe die Kultur dieses Landes, ohne sie wirklich studiert zu haben, nachmachen zu können...

This is at the Highland Games in Scotland County NC, the band playing is the Celtic Jam Band. When ever Jim would go to listen to them, they'd stop playing, so he just put the camera down and recorded the sound with out a visual of the band
