First Day of Spring in Anstruther [02:21]
Yesterday, 2 March, was a beautiful Spring day in Anstruther, Fife, Scotland. The outdoor cafes were busy, the world famous fish restaurant had a half-hour queue as we found out - still waited though! And the organ grinder was out - perfect day!
1929 Higland Games Banff Springs Hotel Alberta [03:19]
Footage from my film collection I had digitally transferred from way back in 1929 of the Banff Highland Games. Games held at the Banff Springs Hotel. This was a 3 day event at the end of August including Scottish concerts and special Scottish meals at the hotel as well as standard events. There was always a church service conducted in the open air at the Devil's Cauldron conducted by Ralph Connor (Dr. CW Gordon). These were big events in all aspects. Pipers came from across the country and even a few from Scotland. So too with dancers, travelling long distance by train to attend these gatherings. Up to 8000 people flocked to the town of Banff and the Hotel to be a part of this festival, among the most highly acclaimed North American Highland Games in those years.
Our Lady's Well St Mary's Monastery Kinnoull Perth Perthshire Scotland [00:42]
Tour Scotland video of Our Lady's Well at St Mary's Monastery Kinnoull on visit to Perth, Perthshire. It was during the early stage of the building that a remarkable incident took place. In October 1867, a Mr Turnbull who owned the land which overlooked the new site, diverted water that flowed from his land through the Redemptorist property, and which wa essential for the stonework that had to be undertaken to build the Monastery. He also threatened legal action in order to prevent the continuation of the building. The small group of Redemptorists felt helpless in this hostile environment, and eventually turned to Mary, the Mother of God, in the hope that her powerful intercession would come to their assistance. One the final day of a Novena (nine days of prayer) to our Lady of Perpetual Succour, one of the Lay-Brothers struck a well whilst planting potatoes on the hillside, and a continuous flow of water appeared. This spring water still flows today, and has ever since been called "Our Lady's Well".

Here you can see little photos of our third holiday trip in Scotland. All photos are shot by Sony Alpha 33 (SLT camera) connected with Sony SAL-1870 DT3.5-5.6 1.3ft macro objective. All photos aren't reworked. Some photos has effects such as tonal separation, black-white, pop-colors, retro, high-key, part-colors and toys. Furthermore you can see some blend-portraits and to get light-tracks in night shots, the shutter speed was extended. In the background, you can hear chillout - music from Sun. The title of this song is Last Chance. The photos lost little quality by uploading, it's visual on the copy protection. Ps. The seal and the squirrel was alive and in free nature!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hier seht ihr ein paar Fotos von unserem nun schon dritten Urlaub in Schottland. Alle Fotos wurden mit der Sony Alpha 33 (SLT Kamera) in Verbindung mit einem Sony SAL -1870 DT3.5-5.6 1.3ft Macro Objektiv geschossen. Die Bilder wurden nicht nachbearbeitet. Mitunter sind Bilder mit Tontrennung, Schwarzweiß, Pop-Farben, Retro, High-Key, Teilfarben und Spielzeugeffekten. Des Weiteren seht ihr Bendenporträts und bei manchen Nachtaufnahmen wurde, um Lichtspuren zu Erzielen, die Verschlusszeit verlängert. Im Hintergrund hört ihr Chillout - Musik von Sun. Der Song lautet Last Chance. Ps. Der Seehund und das Eichhörnchen waren lebendig und in freier Natur!!!
