I went through Spean Bridge on the second day of my trip. The monument is so close to the road that you shouldn't pass by without stopping for a break and visiting the monument. Even with the road so close and visitors stopping most of the time the location is really tranquil, though that was probably the last thing on the mind of the commandos training in this country during 1943-45.

Lots of places packed into a 7 day visit to scotland. Including, Ben Nevis, Ariseg, Mallaig, The Isle of Skye, The Isle of Muck, The Isle of Eigg, Loch Ness and a ride on Britains only mountain gondella near Spean Bridge just outside Fort William. Nero and I visit them all in 13 minutes for your entertainment.
