UM! Whisky Tour #41: Glendronach [02:15]
Gogsie visits Glendronach, the last distillery in Scotland to have the stills fired directly from coal fires from below. Legislation made this illegal in the early eighties and the steam alternative was introduced. Gogsie purchased a lovely Sauternes finish 13yr old which he tastes in the next fantastically amazing episode of Uisge Mhath. You dig.

UM! Whisky Tour #41: Ardmore [03:24]
Winter returns to Aberdeenshire in May 2010. Yes, May. The middle of summer. Yet this does not sway Mr Gogsie Broon on his grand whisky adventure which this week takes him to the Ardmore distillery near Kennethmont. The wintry weather is clearly evident at the Loanhead of Daviot stone circle where the erstwhile Mr Broon is momentarily possessed by the spirit of a dancing Pict. As you were.

UM! Whisky Tour #39: Lochside [02:19]
The old Deuchars brewery in Montrose became Lochside distillery in 1957 until it was closed in 1992 and demolished a few years later... Gogsie Broon makes a pilgrimage to the site with tell-tale signs of the old Macnab distillery still kickin' aboot. Shame, such a shame, but hey, nuthin' else fur it, eh?

UM! Whisky Tour #38: Glenesk [01:53]
In the small town of Hillside just outside of Montrose lies what used to be the Glen Esk distillery. Distilling both malt and grain in it's heyday, the facility retired to large-scale malting during the downturn in the early eighties. Some of the warehouses still stand but much of the old buildings have been superceded by the modern industrial units round about it... just like Gogsie Broons face with that tache :)

UM! Whisky Tour #36: Glencadam [02:25]
Just down the road apiece and behind Glebe Park home of the mighty Brechin City Footballing Club lies the Glencadam distillery, and it was here in the month of May 2010 that the much mustachio'd whisky demon Dr Gogsie of Broon Esq did visit. Glencadam had to cease production during the winter of 2009 due to flooding but is now back on it's feet and distilling away like there is nae the morrow, you dig.
