Scotland Day 6 - Loch Ness & Urquhart [05:03]
Day 6: we hired a three-passenger (actually two-passenger + driver) motorcycle (aka a "trike") and headed out through Inverness to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, then on to Fort Augustus and back to Castle Stuart. Then a stop in Nairn for sticky toffee pudding, which was one the daily staples of our tour.

North Scotland. Loch Eriboll (E) to Bettyhill (E) via Tongue [11:38]
The perfect day for a motorcycle ride around the very north of mainland Scotland. This part of the journey takes one from the north eastern end of Loch Eriboll along to the east by Tongue and through Bettyhill. Approaching Tongue one gets an excellent view of Ben Loyal in the distance. The A838 and A836 have quite a few sections of single track road over the total distance of approx 25 miles. Autumn Equinox ride from from the Kyle of Lochalsh road at Auchtertyre to Strathcarron. (A87/A890 junction to A890/A896 junction). A mostly 2 lane road, with some sections of single track road alongside Loch Carron. This section of road includes a short tunnel alongside the rail track where there have been nearby and recent landslides (now cleared). Approximately 14.5 miles...Video compression x 2.
