Walk To Meet Scottish Clydesdale Horses Fife Scotland [02:19]
Tour Scotland video of a wee walk up a farm road to meet some Scottish Clydesdale horses on visit to North Fife near St Andrews. The Clydesdale is a breed of draught horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale, Scotland, and named after that region. The breed was developed from Flemish stallions imported to Scotland and crossed with local mares. The first recorded use of the name "Clydesdale" for the breed was in 1826, and by 1830 a system of hiring stallions had begun that resulted in the spread of Clydesdale horses throughout Scotland and into northern England. The first breed registry was formed in 1877. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, thousands of Clydesdales were exported from Scotland and sent throughout the world, including to Australia and New Zealand, where they became known as " the breed that built Australia ".
The Royal Regiment Visit To Stirling Scotland [01:34]
Tour Scotland video of photographs of The Royal Regiment on a visit to Stirling. The Royal Regiment of Scotland was awarded the Freedom of the City on this visit. They are the senior and only Scottish line infantry regiment of the British Army Infantry and consists of five regular and two territorial battalions. Awarding the freedom of the city is an age old tradition and honour dating back to the laws of ancient Rome that made it a capital offence for Roman legions to enter the city in formation or with weapons without permission. The parade began at Stirling Castle led by combined military and pipe band. A small selection of my personal photographs shot on small group tours of Scotland.
