Foulis Castle Scotland [00:30]
Foulis Castle lies in the parish of Kiltearn, near the village of Evanton in the Highland area of northern Scotland. The castle has been the seat of the Clan Munro for over eight hundred years. During the 11th century, the clan chief was given the castle and Foulis lands as a reward from the Earl of Ross for defeating Viking invaders.

Edinburgh Castle [02:51]
In about AD 600, three hundred men gathered around their King. Mynyddog, in his stronghold of Din Eidyn. This is the first mention of the name of the place, which we call Edinburgh. The war-band was preparing to attack the Angles, recent heathen invaders from Europe. The war-band pledged themselves to die for their King and almost all did die, on a raid into the territories of the Angles, in Yorkshire. Shortly after, in AD 638, Din Eidyn was besieged and taken by the Angles and the place seems then to have received the English name which it has kept ever since - Edinburgh.

Away In Iona, Scotland [01:17]
It's a late Summer day in 1998. But time doesn't seem that relevant on the Isle of Iona, a small, wind-swept, Scottish Isle, famed for its Abbey, appreciated for its quiet calm, and remembered for its stories of ghostly viking invaders and old Scottish kings who are buried here. Iona features in the Edinburgh International Film Festival opening film The Illusionist this year.
