November Sunset at Saligo Bay, Isle of Islay [03:10]
Watching a sunset at Saligo Bay on the west of the Isle of Islay, Scotland: I watched and filmed this sunset at the end of November 2012, viewing it from various places on the beach and on the dunes as the sun continued to set. The only sounds are the sound of the waves and the howling wind battering the coast. Towards the end the clouds move in slightly quicker than I had hoped, but we still get to see the sun setting. Just.

Suilven and Stac Pollaidh Mountains via canoe trip on Cam Loch [04:16]
We canoed into Cam Loch and camped wild before heading off to Suilven. We ascended from the South East over all 3 tops to the summit at Caisteal Liath. Rosie the German Shepherd was a ' real ' mountain dog. Next day we went to Stac Pollaidh, which was very busy due to the bank holiday and fine weather. The views were amazing from both Scottish mountains! We didn't encounter many midges and everywhere we went you could here the call of the cuckoo.

Orkney Trip [09:59]
North Scotland coast. They still exist primarily because they used stone to build with and not wood as we used in the UK below them. They date from 4500 to 5000 years old & have hardly been worn despite the howling winds you can hear on the videos. My friend, David, was very instrumental in rebuiding & excavating many of the sites you see here such as Skara Brae in the 1970s. Quietest time to visit is from sept to xmas. Most popular is mid-year! ... Orkney "Scotland history" Neolithic tripmonk0 ...

Cool Kids at Sea [00:43]
Nick Creed and I took Alistair (5) and Roan (8) for a sail from Largs, Scotland to the Island of Bute. Calm conditions were forecast, but we encountered near gale conditions as we rounded Little Cumbrae. Despite the lashing rain, choppy seas and howling wind the boys simply turned the cabin into a soft play area. ... Largs Bute Sailing Gale Scotland Yacht Reefed
