CLAN 2013 Promo [01:47]
Passion! Passion for Jesus and His Kingdom; Passion for the lost, least and last; Passion for the Beloved - the Bride of Christ. We want a greater passion to arise within the Church in Scotland. We believe that it is time for a greater passion to be released within our nation and the nations for Jesus. CLAN Gathering 2013 will be a time where we really begin to see the talk of impacting the nation becoming a reality. During the week we will be pursuing a greater passion for Jesus ourselves in worship, prayer and equipping. We will also be drawing more and more non-Christians into the Gathering as we serve the town of St.Andrews and demonstrate the love of God. CLAN Gathering 2013 will make it very clear - dull religion is not acceptable any more. Passion for Jesus will be the order of the day - today and every day!
Comp Soc Hillwalking Adventures Around Loch Muick Scotland 13 Oct 2012 [03:43]
Is RGU CompSoc a Computer Society or a Hillwalking Club? That's a question we ask ourselves every time we venture into the wilds of Scotland for a bit of adventure. This time we headed about 60km west of Aberdeen to Loch Muick, just a few miles south west of Ballater. As you can see it was quite an overcast and damp day but everybody really had a great time. In all about twenty students and academics joined in the fun, some took the easy option of just quickly going around the track that located just meters from the loch itself. The other dozen as you can see from this video decided to take a slightly more adventurous up into the cloud covered hills. I kept on thinking that our journey through the misty and cloud covered hills around the loch were a bit like the journey of the fellowship of the ring trying to cross the misty mountains. In one scene from our adventures you can probably think of a very similar scene from the Fellowship of the Ring where the Hobbits, Humans,Dwarf, Elf & Wizard make their way in single file across the ridge of a mountain shortly after commencing their quest from the elven outpost of Rivendell. In our case we are in single file, but one of the main differences is that you can just barely see us given the cloud cover. As we all know the depiction of Middle-Earth was recorded in New Zealand, given its wondrous landscapes, I do wonder however that it could also have been shot in Scotland. The Falls of Shin. Sutherland, Highlands, Scotland, UK. [00:34]
Falls of Shin Waterfalls & Salmon Leap The water falls at Shin would be spectacular on their own, but the sight of leaping salmon makes them even more special and something not to be missed. Falls of Shin is recognised as being one of the best places in all of Scotland to watch leaping Atlantic Salmon, and the fish can be seen anytime between May and November, with the late summer months making this almost guaranteed. The salmon attempt to leap the falls because they are heading up river to breed, and to the place they themselves were born. In June 2011 we will be opening a major exhibition display which charts the lifecycle of the Atlantic Salmon and the importance of the Kyle of Sutherland area to its long-term survival. So be sure not to miss this new and impressive addition to what the visitor centre has to offer.
