Loch Chon off the Rob Roy Way - adverts ro be removed!!! [03:39]
Remove those stupid adverts you've overlaid on this video YouTube eh? A short stroll in the Trossachs [Jan 2009] in and around Loch Chon just off the Rob Roy Way. With views of Aberfoyle and it's 'Poker Tree' as well as the Covenanters Inn ( now Inchrie Castle Hotel) but still complete with dungeon, where in 1949 delegates met at a Scottish Convention, the result of which saw the launch of the Scottish Covenant which over the next year gathered over 2 million signatures supporting self government for Scotland. The famous 'Stone of Destiny', over which Scottish Kings and Queens of a bygone era were crowned, was secreted in the Inn when it mysteriously disappeared from Westminster, London. A group of modern day Covenanters had removed the Stone to return it to its 'rightful home in Scotland'. Having stopped at the RRW destination of Aberfoyle for a brief walkabout, this short winter stroll commences and ends on Loch Chon, located between Kinlochard and Inversnaid on the Aberfoyle to Inversnaid road. The loch is popular with fishemen and hosts pike, perch and brown trout. The 79-mile Rob Roy Way (see other videos) is an unofficial and therefore not fully waymarked Long Distance Path that departs that well known West Highland Way destination of Drymen in search of Pitlochry via some spectacular and dramatic Scottish scenery. The route takes the walker by the Victorian Corrie Aqueduct, the aforementioned famous 'Poker Tree', beneath Ben Ledi (see other video) and Ben Shian ...
