HMS Montrose visits Montrose - November 2008 [13:31]
On the 15th November 2008, the Royal Navy Frigate, HMS Montrose (F236) paid a formal visit to Montrose, Angus, Scotland. During her visit she was open to the public and the Ships's Company took the opportunity of exercising their right to march through the town with "Bayonets Fixed" and "Drums Beating" as bestowed by the award of the Freedom of Angus in 2002. Music was provided by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Scotland. Members of Dundee Sea Cadet Corps had travelled on the ship to the town and they took part in the parade, where the Provost of Angus, Ruth Leslie-Melville, took the salute.
