Irvine Beach, Ayrshire, Scotland. Winter Storm (28dec2011). [02:24]
I have no idea who these people are! They walked into the shot just as I started to film the big waves at the Irvine Beach Point. I honestly don't think the video would've been as good without them in the foreground, so thank you whoever you are ;-) Like the other video recorded on the same day this storm was filmed over an hour from the time of high tide. The sea was still very high as you would expect from such high winds. I filmed this from the comfort of my car, but had walked all the way down to the beach with my dog a couple of hours earlier. the car was a better option....believe me!

Irvine Harbour, Ayrshire, Scotland. Winter Storm (28dec2011) [01:33]
A storm hit the west coast of Scotland today. Gusts in Ayrshire have apparently reached speeds in excess of 70mph. I picked my brother up from work today, and we drove down to the harbour and beach to see how it was. The tide had peaked about an hour earlier (2:23pm according to the internet), but the sea was still a few feet higher than it normally would be at high tide. Although not as powerful as storms seen in other countries, the power of the wind can be seen when watching the spray from the sea, which falls up after hitting the harbour wall!

Kirkconnel,Dumfrieshire Through New Cumnock,Ayrshire,Scotland(16dec2011)Winter [13:09]
Return journey to Irvine after meeting up with my Dumfries counterpart (hello Trevor ;-). There was a little snow on the ground, maybe a couple of inches, even though there was nothing in either Irvine or dumfries.

Mauchline Towards Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. Winter, Late Afternoon.(16dec2011) [08:00]
Driving through Mauchline towards Kilmarnock on the way back to my work after meeting up with my Dumfries counterpart at Kirkconnel. There was a little snow on the ground in some of the Ayrshire villages, maybe between an inch and two inches, but nothing back at Irvine. The video was recorded around about 3:30pm, local time and the sun had almost set. Roll on the summer!
