Tour St Andrews Harbour Fife Scotland [07:52]
Tour Scotland video of St Andrews Harbour, Fife. Legend has it that a saintly monk called Rule, or Regulus, who lived in Patras, was divinely inspired to take some of the Apostle's bones and make a journey far to the west. St Rule set off and was shipwrecked on the rocks just to the west of St Andrews harbour. These days the old harbour is most certainly worth a visit. being only a short walk from St Andrews Cathedral. The old pier is popular spot for walking with excellent vistas looking back towards the town of St Andrews. The harbour is always busy with creel boats entering and leaving the harbour. It is also a good place to view the coast at St Andrews and St Andrews Castle. It is a wonderful place to simply relax and watch boats enter and leave under the wooden drawbridge. Canoes and kayaks are often seen in the harbour, with University Students practicing their skills. In the Winter, of course, there are often high tides with big waves.
