Scotland. Kinloch to Laxford Bridge on the A838 by BMW motorcycle [14:59]
This video is the final 11 miles of the 34 mile single track road (A838) that runs from just NW of Lairg to the junction with the A894 close to Laxford Bridge. This particular part runs through the "Geology Park" where some very interesting and historical research/discoveries were made of the makeup and building of geological features....some of which can be seen on exposed rocks as one rides rides along this road and in the vicinity.

Scotland. NW Highlands. Tongue to Durness via A838 on a BMW motorcycle. [10:52]
Although the initial part of the ride from Tongue is a normal 2 lane "A" road, once the ride starts to go around Loch Eribol it becomes single track with passing places.

NW Scotland, Lairg to Tongue via Crask and Altnaharra on A836 by BMW Motorcycle. [12:57]
Just north of Lairg at the junction with the A838 the A836 becomes a single track road. For the next 34 miles or so, the road takes one on a journey through picturesque scenery of open moors, valleys, lochs and mountainside. Apart from the Crask Inn and Altnaharra village, the area is very sparsely populated. Video compression x4.

Scotland. Southern end of Loch Eriboll to East of Durness by BMW motorcycle. [16:00]
This was part of a journey of in excess of 300 miles that day. It was not as originally intended and I ended up trying to beat a weather front and to remain in sunny conditions for movie making. Ideally, the route is best done in the reverse direction, so that will have to be for another day when conditions are good. This section of the A838 road is almost entirely single track in nature and is similar to that on the majority of the eastern side of the loch and those roads to the south from up here. Unlike my previously posted movies using the bikecam (the orange housing can be seen to the left of the fairing) this movie has been made with a similar camera mounted on my helmet. I appreciate that the audio roar is not ideal, but as yet I have not upgraded to a properly placed microphone....!!!!!
