The West Highland Way Experience - From Inverarnan to Fort William [18:27]
This year my dad and I decided to walk the West Highland Way. Due to the lack of time we had only 5 days to walk, so we decided to skip the part of Glasgow and Loch Lomond, and start at Inverarnan. From there to Fort William would be a 90 kilometer long walk. We walked from april the 23th till the 27th. For me the temperatures were perfect for long distance walking. It was about 5 - 15 degrees, and we have had quite a lot of sun. Only Wednesday was rainy and stormy. We had booked the places to sleep by ourselve. We were very happy about the accomodation, except for the bunkhouse in Bridge of Orchy, wich was more like an old military barrack to me. I have really enjoyed myselfe during the long distance walk and I'll definetily will come back to Scotland to walk the whole trail! The music I used for this film is not my own. Great Britain V in Scotland 24-26 April 2012 - 46115 45305 45407 46233.mpeg [05:18]
Some of the Scottish tours of the Great Britain V rail tour as always well organised and a big thanks to the staff crew and the organisers! 1. 46115 Scots Guardsman coasts downhill through Carmyle station Glasgow on 1Z42 from Inverness to Glasgow, 24 April 2. 45305+45407 passing Barassie on 1Z47 the Glasgow (Barnhill) to Stranraer leg 25 April. 3. 46233 passes first Irvine then New Cumnock on 1Z53 the Glasgow (Barnhill) to Carlisle leg on 26 April. Thanks to Jake Nicky and Scott for the company and banter. Thanks also to Clark C, Don for the company on 26 April. The wind on the 25 & 26 April was particularly strong and it was difficult to stay steady in the open spots we chose to film. However it was great to film steam across the border once again and particularly Duchess of Sutherland on the G&SW line, a real nostalgic run for me personally. The Duchesses were surely Stanier's masterpiece?!
