Abandoned 16th century "Eastend House/Castle" ---- South Lanarkshire, Scotland [06:56]
Information from buildings at risk register scotland: Georgian country house built around the nucleus of a simple square keep of c.1500. The tall crowstep-gabled wings to the east and west were added in 1673. The bow-fronted elevation to the south was added in the 18th century and completely encases the original keep on that side. The Scottish Baronial additions to the west date to 1851 and are by David Bryce. The original keep is now only visible along its north front and a little of its east side. It is in coursed and harled rubble and rises through 3 storeys to a crenellated parapet borne on corbels. A gabled garret storey sits above. The first floor string course continues along the 17th century wing to the east.

This Fire Truck is Also a Guest House [01:02]
Stay Inside a Historic Fire Truck - as part of the travel series by GeoBeats. For those who want to venture beyond a typical hotel room, give the Beer Moth truck a try! The Beer Moth is a retired fire service truck, belonging to Walter, the owner of a guest house in Scotland. The 1956 truck came from the Manston Fire Museum in Kent. Inside, you'll find an oak floor, a Victorian double bed, seating areas, and there's even a fireplace. You also get your own kitchen. Price starts from about $100 a night for this unique rural experience. It seems like more and more of such unusual rental places are coming up around the world. Spheres, found in Canada and elsewhere, they are suspended from a web of rope and offer you a great way to connect with nature. Then there's the Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, United States -where you get to stay inside a dog. Still not unique enough for you? How about a stay in a windmill from the 18th century? What's the strangest place you have stayed at?
