Wonderful Perth

The city of Perth rests quietly on the banks of the River Tay in the Scottish Lowlands. It has two large public parks and most of the houses near the city centre are built in a Georgian terraced style. For tourists, there are lots of galleries, shops and a theatre, as well as the usual Scottish attractions such as scenery, castles and walks. There are many really great attractions in the region of Perthshire and Kinross and as such, Perth makes an ideal base for holiday makers.

In the city centre you will find High Kirk - a 14th century cathedral. There are many Victorian styled buildings in the city and Perth carries a strong sense of history. Not to be outdone, however, it also has some more recent developments - such as Hunters Crescent and Muirton. There is also an impressive bridge called the Friarton Bridge which carries traffic towards the East of the City and on towards Dundee. The old railway station is also very interesting and is still in use. Broxden Junction is generally considered to be the hub of Scotland's road network - a junction from which you can access every major city in Scotland.

While quite a small city, Perth has much to offer. Just like in a larger city, you can eat till your heart's content or party the night away at some of the fine restaurants and nightclubs in the city. Or you can take in some of the relaxing sites of Perth - such as Branklyn Gardens or Kinnoull Hill. If you enjoy some light activity, you might try golf, fishing or walking in and around Perth. All options are very rewarding and worth your while. There is also a swimming pool and ice rink where you can relax and spend time with friends. All in all, Perth is a charming place to spend a holiday.
