Kenmore

Kenmore is a delightful village overlooking the beautiful Loch Tay. The first thing to catch your eye on approaching the town is the lines of whitewashed cottages. Filled with scenic splendor and historic intrigue, the village of Kenmore is a delightful tourist stop.

Taymouth Castle is possibly the main feature of the town, standing at one end of the main street of Kenmore. The impressive castle was built in the 1800s by John Campbell, and it currently serves as a private golf club. At the other end of the main street you will discover the fascinating village church. Between these two features is the Kenmore Hotel, said to date back to 1572.

Well worth a visit is the Scottish Crannog Centre, which boasts the reconstruction of a historical crannog (defensive house). At the visitor centre you can view various artifacts from the excavations that have taken place here.

Visitors to the Scottish town of Kenmore can take advantage of the natural features to enjoy such activities as fishing, water sports, hillwalking and other outdoor adventures.
