Book a Day of Pampering at Stobo Castle Health Spa

Sir James Montgomery commissioned the construction of Stobo Castle, which began in the year 1805 and was completed in 1811. The Montgomery family had recruited the famous and respected architects, Archibald and James Elliot, to design and oversee the completion of their home in which they stayed for approximately 100 years. The castle eventually fell into disrepair and the Winyard family stepped in during 1975 and opened the Stobo Castle Health Spa in 1978.

Stobo Castle Health Spa is one of the spas in Scotland that can be visited either for a day or visitors are welcome to stay overnight, or for longer. The stylish rooms at the Stobo Castle can accommodate 59 visitors, and ensure that guests can relax and enjoy the tranquility of their surroundings. Located on a breathtaking estate in the Peeblesshire countryside, this wonderful spa can provide guests with all the luxury and relaxation that they require.

The Stobo Castle Spa offers guests more than thirty treatments to choose from, and the grounds include a sparkling swimming pool, sauna, flotarium, whirlpool and samarium. The Secret Garden offers something a little different that sets it apart from other spas in Scotland. Here you will have five treatments to choose from and all treatments use unique and effective extracts that combine exotic cultures and different forms of massage to rejuvenate and relax your body. The treatments are called the Vie Collection that incorporates luxurious skin care products and anti-aging products to renew and maintain your skin. Visitors can either enjoy one of two body treatments, facial treatments or “The Ritual” that combines the treatment of the facial area and entire body.

Other treatments include Body Exfoliation, Paraffin Waxing, traditional waxing, Back Massages, Swedish, Massages, Mud Wraps, Body Sculpting treatments, cellulite treatments and Hot Stone Treatments. Spray on Tanning, Manicures and Pedicures are also available, together with specialized treatments for men. Alternative treatments include Reflexology, Aromatherapies, Reiki and Indian head massages. The Stobo Castle Health Spa has a vast range of specialized facial treatments and also has a complete Hair Studio.

For more active health care, visitors can visit the gym where professional assistants and trainers will be able to assess your fitness level and work out the correct training routine to suit your specific needs. The gym is fully equipped with a weights division and cardiovascular machines, such as treadmills and rowing machines. Guests are also encouraged to take part in the yoga and pilates classes. If you are looking for an activity to enjoy in the fresh air, guests can jog, walk or take a mountain biking trip around the estate. Relax in the Zen gardens or next to the waterfalls, or ask about a round of golf, fishing at the Stobo Loch or horse riding through the spectacular landscape.
