Stunning Golf Courses in Inverness

To some, the greatest discovery in Inverness, was the ruins of a city that dates back approximately 2 000 years and has uncovered many significant artifacts, such as iron kilns and houses. But to the others, it is the beautiful golf courses that lie scattered around the Inverness region. Courses such as the Fortrose & Rosemarkie and Boat of Garten Golf Courses that have kept visitors returning and locals have been loyal. The Boat of Garten golf course and the Fortrose course were both designed by James Braid, a famous golf course designer. Boat of Garten was created in a spectacular part of the Inverness area and is a demanding and challenging course. Fortrose & Rosemarkie was established as a nine hole course in 1888, but was adjusted to a deceptive and strategically difficult eighteen hole course during the 1930’s. The decision on where to tee off first is entirely up to you and not being able to play on each course, will ensure your return to this golfing treasure.

The western boundary of the Boat of Garten Golf and Tennis Club is adjoining the tracks of the Strathspey Steam Railway, well loved by vacationers. Popularly called “the Gleneagles of the North,” the delightful Boat of Garten Club is one of the most scenic in Scotland.
