Dalmahoy Golf Course
There are two golf courses at Dalmahoy, the East course and the West course. Between them they have everything good about golf courses in Scotland. The courses were designed and built by the legendary James Braid in 1927 and are a part of a thousand acre estate that surrounds the Dalmahoy Manor. The Manor was built in the 1720s and converted in the1990s into the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club.
Luffness Golf Course
Luffness New Golf Club is probably the oldest new course in the world. It was created in 1894 by Tom Morris. The original Luffness Links were on the west of the present course. Some members from the original club broke away to form the Luffness New Golf Club. The course includes nine original holes from Luffness Old Club founded in 1867.
Muirfield Golf Course
Muirfield is a very exclusive seaside links course, twenty miles from Edinburgh. It is the home of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, the world's oldest golf club, though the game of golf is several centuries older. Characterized by long narrow fairways and fast undulating greens, Muirfield offers no surprises like hidden bunkers, blind shots or subtle undulations. Yet it is a demanding course with all its challenges in open view; a fair course for any determined golfer to take a chance.
