Snaw!

Snaw has arrived here overnight, nearly a month earlier than last year. Are we in for another three month freeze-up. Very depressing, away to the park to give the Whooper Swans a loaf!
Don't eat yellow snow.

How is everybody managing in this weather. Folk have apparently been "panic buying" petrol here causing shortages, considering half the cars in my street have never moved since the snow started, how come?
There has been a run on ham houghs & lentils however, off on a hunt today!

Been stuck at home since last Saturday; we were unable to get the car out of the driveway let alone the street! However we did manage to get to Asda on foot a couple of times so no problem getting food, etc and no food shortages here in Livingston (apart from carrots that is... maybe more people are getting around on reindeer than any other form of transport! )

Carrots can be explained by the national mania for Lentil Soup, Bruce, and the serious Ham Hough shortage, walked into town yesterday and back, ten mile, but a smashin day. This morning its a white hell out there, but I need the paper. Good result for Rikky Burns at the boxing! Sensible guy unlike some others at the fight game. Good Luck attend him.

I love lentil soup Wullie ! Also pea and ham !

What was that advert about stock cubes long ago ? Maybe Phil McCall was in it ?

Something like, in the Highlands, a wumman making soup and the man is waiting to see the soup results, expecting a chicken to have been used. He says something like "That'll be the chicken soup !" She replies "No Willie - that'll be the pea and ham !". Then he replies amazed "Pea and ham ? fae a chicken ?"

Aye Lachie ye get fed-up wi monys a thing but ye never get fed-up wi soup.

Lots of drivers on the wireless complaining about their ordeals yesterday. We have a whole generation here, three & four cars to a house, who won't heed a warning, think the world revolves around them and their cars, and have no idea how to drive in snow.
