About Speyside - Scottish Tourism in Moray That may give you an idea what you are looking at, there are many options and links there. You could also google questions, you just never know what that will turn up in a good google.

Thanks for the link! I will peruse it now.
Definitely grew up in Canada I've been working abroad most of the time for the last 3 years though.Midges... so sunny+dry+windy+Deet=my friend=good luck with that. Gotcha. I've got a fair bit of experience with tiny flies that would drive you stark raving mad trying to kill all the little buggers! |

Hi - while I'd love to suggest Helensburgh as a cool place to stay (there are a couple of vacation rentals in the town and several more round about us), I think that Stirling area would be good. That gives you a lot of flexibility because there's a good train service to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and probably Inverness.
Stirling is also on the motorway system, so reaching other areas of Scotland is fairly straightforward by car. Wherever you end up, I hope you enjoy your visit to Scotland. Margaret
