I liked the Princes Street Gardens, very pretty, even in the rain! I've only visited, can't help with housing. There were some pretty good pubs on Rose Street and a nice sandwich shop on the Royal Mile, Garfunkel's maybe? Not 100% on the name of that. I liked the Calton Hill Cemetery as well, fascinating old headstones there.

Sleep?

Well, then there are the known causes of heartburn included in sandwiches; onions, mustard, oil and vinegar, peppers. . . . I may need to run out for a Subway!

But they don't HAVE a subway in Edinburgh! Not very developed in terms of public transport, there. Heck, in that place it took them forever to think of building a university, even.

(getting jaiket and running away now)

But I agree that graveyards are great fun. Really, they are.

Shock! disbelief!
Even a Podunk town like Enterprise, Oregon has a Subway! Granted, it doesn't go anywhere, being stuck there next door to an insurance office, but at least it's convenient for those occasional sandwich cravings!

Wait, I'll get my jacket and join you and we can check out the cemetery and hit the pub. . . . that'll make it all OK!

That's just wur wee pal having a laugh with you, KathyV! Yes, unfortunately, we have those sandwich bars over here now too.....

But, Celyn comes from the vast Western metropolis, known as Glasgow, which DOES have a subway train service, unlike Edimbra!

Yep, just having a joke, and those "Subway" thingies are everywhere, I think. If they have even reached the non-trendy and very scruffy part of Glasgow near Celyn, then I think they are everywhere. To be fair, when I looked at the thing, I'd rather that be there than a McD's or Burger King, I'd think.
