I have moved your post over to the 'Travel' Forum as 'Clans' was not the right place to put it !!

Read some of the other threads in this forum and you should get a good idea of some of the
things you have asked !!

Places to visit......depends on what you like !!

Same with the food !!

Weather....very changable whatever time of year !!

For a castle stay I just don't know, web search I think and then plan around which one you like the best !!

Once you have chosen the area please ask any questions of us and we will try to be of help to you !!

I would advise a honeymoon in barbados rather than scotland.

Heheh, teashoci - it's her honeymoon, and methinks that even if the weather is not up to Barbados standards, she can find some happy fun indoor activities to do.

Cécile, I don't happen to know much about castles, but you might first try looking at the tourist office website.

Scottish Tourist Board - accommodation, activities, events and holidays in Scotland

Do you plan to visit this year, or next? As for when is the best time to come, well, I should think summer would be best - July or August, for example. However, depending on how you feel about weather, I happen to think that autumn can also be very good.

The more you tell us about what it is that you want, the more we can help you plan your trip.

Oh, and as for "the best dishes", I say nothing. Celyn is not a good cook. But other members here are very skilled about food and cookery, and will probably be able to advise.

Oh, and let me be the first to say "beware of the midgies!"

Hi cécile, When I planed my last trip to Scotland I found the DK travel guide books very helpful, they have info for places to visit, lodging, food, prices for things, opening times for attractions, they are just very complete.

I got mine at Barnes and Nobel, a big book store in the States, I expect you can get them anywhere or order on line from Barnes and Nobel or amazon.com. . .
