Hi, Janet! Scotsmen seem to have a "code of honor" we seem to lack here in the States (at least based on my expieriences). They have a high regard for when a girl is with another Scotsman. Here it seems guys consider it a challenge to try to win a girl away from another guy! From what I've seen, Scotsmen are very romantic. Flirting? I'm surprised, Janet, you'd have to ask. (*smile*) Now go have your rum and coke and enjoy Friday!

I'd just like to balance what Diane said about flirting back there.

Heavens, we flirt over here as well! It's just that if you're seen to do it too much, you're liable to get the 3rd degree from your partner when you get home; or they'll go quiet and distant 'cos they think you don't love them anymore and have to go somewhere else for your excitement. I think jealousy probably comes into it as well, but like all emotions that will vary from person to person. In fact ALL of what I've said above will vary. Some people enjoy flirting, others don't!

Bri
P.S.Can we get back to language please? Maybe we need a "flirting" thread....

Glad you liked the site!

I also noticed further up the thread you were looking for Scottish wedding songs. There is this cute wee website that references resources for wedding customs & traditions at www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/~craig/weddings.html
maybe you may find what you are looking for there.
