I am heading to Scotland in late September and wanted to now a few simple things.
1. IS there a musuem or something about Alexander Flemming and Penicillin? Drugs are my life
2. We are going to Edinburgh, Stirling, and Perth. Are there places to have fun in these areas and mingle. I love to people watch.
3. Shouls I include anywhere else on this tour?

Thanks

nukegirl,

1) I don't know of any museum about Fleming. There may be references to him in the various museums in Glasgow (Kelvingrove, Hunterian) or in Edinburgh (Museum of Scotland).
2) & 3) - People watch - come to Glasgow and hit the pedestrian precincts and shopping areas (Princes Square, Buchanan Galleries, St Enoch Centre) - you'll see plenty of characters there.

I did a little search on the Web (hardly exhaustive) and the only Fleming museum I found was at the London hospital (St. Mary's I think) where he did his pioneering research.

I beg you pardon for my ignorance but... What is "people watch"?

Thanks

Juanjo - "People Watch" is the art of watching people....sitting on a bench or a wall or a cafe table and contemplating the weird and wonderful characters that pass by and wondering what they are up to. With a few beers and pals it can make for an entertaining few hours with some interesting comments flying back and forth.

Elmy, thank you for your explication, I didn't know what you were talking about in this topic.

Once in Glasgow I sat down in a stair outside the Buchanan Galleries and spent an hour or so doing "People Watch" while eating some sandwiches. It's a nice place to do that.
