I finally listened to my first SPL game on the BBC online. Sadly, Hibs lost, but at least I got more of the flavour of the game, and the pronunciation of the players names than from reading.
This is one case where the internet makes the world a smaller place.

Jocky, you've a short memory! I saw you in chat a few months ago and told you about my new nick... you were rushing off to watch the motor racing, remember?

Just a comment... in another thread some of the girls are talking about their idea of the 'perfect man' and one of them said "a man who doesnt watch sport on TV" or something like that. I dont want to comment in that thread as i dont want it to look like i am stirring trouble (long story), but i could definitely NOT be attracted to a man who doesnt follow fitba!! As Hank Hill would say, "The boy ain't right"!
Glad to see all you lads here in the sport forum!

Smile

Celtic is pronounced Seltic because when they were founded many of the people who supported the club simpply mispronounced it. Brother Winnifred (who founded Celtic) did pronounce it Keltic but no-one else did. I remember reading this a while back and don't know the exact details, but I just remember thinking that it seems Sellick fans have always been stupid.
