I'm a Celtic fan too and have heard of both of the Argentinian teams and am aware that they are great rivals,
but to be honest I don't know why. Are they both from the same City or is there some other reason?

I have read somewhere that Boca Juniors V River Plate is one of the biggest club games in the world, as you say like Celtic v Rangers. Have you ever been to either of these games?

I'm sure that Celtic played River Plate in the 1960's and that some of the players were sent off for fighting! But I would have to check this out before I could tell you more about it.

There is no coverage of Argentinian football on TV in Scotland although Claudio Cannigia has caused a fair bit interest since he has been playing for Dundee. There was talk about him going to Rangers, but nothing has happened yet.

I changed my name(no more argentina)

Jake, wow! all that information i didn't know about...Caniggia playing for Dundee???
And he's planning to join the rangers?
Yea, we're talking about serious stuff here, Boca and River are two neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires (argentina's capital), both with their own spectacular soccer clubs / stadium..
And yes, they are very close to each other, same city-
I have been a couple of times with my cousins to Boca / River matches..and i have to say it's amazing, i just happen to love football (as we call it) everybody is so out of control, screaming and everything..
I would love to go to a Celtic game..I went to the pub a couple of weeks ago when they played against rangers..it was grand!

Julieta ......hi there..... some more info for you........

Yes it is true Caniggia is at Dundee. Apparently he wants to get back into the Argentinian national team so he feels he needs to play for a bigger team (which is playing in the Champions league) to achieve this. No one knows yet if he will be going to Rangers. I thought that some of the Dundee games were shown on TV in Argentina. Maybe you will get a chance to see him playing. By coincidence Celtic are playing Dundee on Sunday so he should be playing in that game.

The sport is called football in Scotland too. Soccer is what Americans seem to call it. When you say shouting and out of control well that describes a Celtic v Rangers game quiet well!!

You seem well informed about Celtic and Rangers. Do you know someone from Scotland or have you visited in the past? And why do you like Celtic? It would certainly be possible for you to go to a game if you were visiting Scotland but you would have to buy a ticket in advance to do this. The season is almost over now but will be beginning again at the end of July.
