Anyone else here adore this ancient sport?

My brother played for most of his (short) life. I have nephews who play.

That's cool. There aren't many shinty clubs here in the U.S.

My Dad used to like watching shinty and I think he played sometimes as a lad, we also used to watch the Camanachd Cup on telly; the only teams I can remember now are Oban Camanachd, Kyles Athletic, Newtonmore and Kingussie.

Who's the current leading team these days ?

Am I right in recalling there have been matches in the past between Scottish Shinty and Irish Hurling teams with one half played in each style ?
