Lachlan, you are correct... it's like watching two different sports according to who has the ball. Lewis is starting up a shinty team so I heard while I was there this summer... too bad.. I needed a few pieces of equipment and had assumed it was played in most of the Highlands... but I will say... telling people in a pub in Lewis that you play shinty makes you a really popular girl

It would do itself more favours if protective equipment was mandatory.
It's a much better sport than field hockey, BTW, more like lacrosse or ice hockey.

I wasn't comparing it to Hockey. I mean that it looks like I a sport I rather play than watch. I rather play Hockey than watch Hockey, thus the "like Hockey" comment. This sport is obviously much more physical than Hockey, unless the Pakistanis are playing that is.
