Freerunning in Scotland

Hi there everyone. My name is Sam and I am a member of a freerunning team called Axis Freerun which is based in central Glasgow. We have just been a part of Glasgows West End Festival and have performed for the Glasgow Commonwealth handover.

This year we will be taking classes for anyone who is interested in taking part or even if you have any questions about the sport itself. Me and the other boys are always happy to help .

If you have no Idea what freerunning is then here is one of the pieces of media we have produced recently .
YouTube - ‪One Week (Long)‬‏

For the information of classes or how to start freerunning please contact us through facebook

I think free-running is amazing to see ! I saw a prog about an Anglo-French team in London and their athleticism and gymnastics was something to watch ! Using the urban landscape like that is inspirational. Good luck with that.

I was watching one of those Japanese competition progs at the weekend where fit competitors navigate a whole series of really tricky and challenging outdoor obstacles against the clock. It looks very hard and takes much stamina and training. But after watching a little while, I thought "I bet free-runners could do this course easy !"

Yeah I Know what you mean those boys from down south certainly know what there doing and even though it is a french sport the UK are doing very well with the development of it .

The programme was probally ninja warrior I love it and Im sure a free-runner has won it before once with ease.

What I would like is for there to be a bigger community of free-runners within Scotland and there to be maby some local competitions or meetings. Hopfully it catches on even despite the weather .

Thanks for reading Lachlan .
Peace and Love

Ninja Warrior ! I watched on TV here last night.

I love watching the free-flowing action of free-runners on TV. They never seem to stop for breath but take it all in their stride fluidly without a gap - and leaps and spins etc ! Using buildings and urban landscapes, as one runner is followed by another and another !

It would be great set to the right music.
