Let`s face it. Glasgow Rangers F.C. supporters (not the management) hate, loathe and despise everything that is genuinely Celtic in Scottish life including our Scots Celtic language and culture. Similarly, Glasgow Celtic F.C. (a misnomer) hate, loathe and despise everything that is English in Scotland and bizarrely, our Scots Celtic language and culture as well. Such people are not Celts given that Celts are defined as people who speak a Celtic language. A "Scottish" Cup Final between Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic is really a couldron of hatred - hatred between English and Irish nationalists. Foreign-born posters, please note!

If in doubt, read "Empire: How Britain [England] Made the Modern World" by Niall Ferguson - a North British Teuton - between the lines.

I'd tend to agree with Hugh. I don't regard either Celtic or Rangers as Scottish teams, and support neither. Both teams fly a foreign country's flag above their stadium, and I cannot relate to either of them.

They'll both struggle in an Independent Scotland.

The sooner the better!
